About Emily

Emily combines lived experience with training in Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Yoga Therapy and other modalities that support the therapeutic application of yoga among populations facing stress, trauma and mental health concerns.

Discovering body-based practices and cultivating somatic intelligence helped Emily to compassionately reconnect with all parts of herself. Seeing this powerful transformation, she decided to formally study yoga, in the full sense of the word.

Emily created Yoga Where U R Planted to share insights and practices with others who have a history of nervous system dysregulation, traumatic or overwhelmingly stressful situations, disordered eating and dissociation. At YWURP, she offers a mixture of ancient wisdom traditions coupled with the newest research in mindfulness-based and somatic psychology and neuroscience. Together, she and clients create practices that facilitate their exploration of resources, tools and understandings which support them to come back into their body and be okay being there.
