Lily's Kind Words

I’ve started to really savor moments (with my son) and not approach them with an attitude of “I can’t wait for bedtime,” etc. It makes me feel a lot better about our relationship and my ability to connect with him, which I was struggling with. I decided to challenge myself to eat more intentionally. I borrowed a paleo cookbook from the library and have been making grocery lists and menus for the past two weeks. It is SO freeing to know exactly what I’m going to cook each day, and it’s lowered my grocery bill by $100 each week! I’ve decided to move away from trying to always have a timetable for the day, and then feeling like a failure when I’m not “on schedule.” I feel much more relaxed and able to enjoy each day as a gift since doing this. This challenge has vastly improved my familial relationships, as well as my relationship with myself. I feel healthier, happier, and more attuned to what I need and to how I can help others in a constructive way for both parties. Thank you! ~Lily
